Golden Retrievers are the type of dog that tends to get along with everyone. They are friendly, loyal, happy, social, and playful. They are the type of dog that will most likely get along with your cat. Golden Retrievers also don’t mind sharing playtime. You may want to adopt a small one so that your cat will get used to him/her more easily and so that they don’t look so big and frightining.

Labrador Retrievers

Labrador retrievers are a lot like golden retrievers. They are one of the friendliest and most obedient dogs out there. This breed tends to be very playful, gentle, outgoing, and loyal. Labradors will make a great companion to your family and will most likely get along well with your kitty.

Bichon frisés

The Bichon frisés has a happy and loving personality. They tend to love everyone and everything, so a cat shouldn’t be a problem. They will spend a great deal of time socializing with your kitties. Keep in mind that these little doggies also tend to have a lot of energy to burn so if your cat is lazy then the bichon frisés might not be the best fit for you as they may just end up bothering your cat.

Maltese

Maltese are known for their gentle and relaxed nature. They are small and have a low chance of troubling your cat, in fact many Maltese dogs act a lot like cats. These little dogs were bred for companionship and are often called lap dogs due to their love of cuddling and napping in their owners lap. A properly socialized Maltese can even become great friends with your feline friend.

Basset Hound

Basset hounds were first bred for hunting but now they are known for their laziness. Cats will often decide to sleep on them or use them as a couch. They are also pretty easygoing and peaceful.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is respectful of other animals space and territories so they’re not likely to infringe on your cats space or territory. They are also likely to get anxious, or even lonely when they are left alone for long periods of time so a feline friend might even be comforting to them and make them feel less lonely.
